Shia communities worldwide have held commemorations this week for the 25th anniversary of the passing of Grand Ayatollah Seyed Muhammad al‑Husaini Shirazi (may his soul rest in peace), honoring his scholarship, ethical teachings, and contributions to history and civilization.

The late Imam Shirazi is remembered not only as a jurist and scholar but also as a philosopher of history. In works such as Philosophy of History and Islamic Civilization, he emphasized that history is governed by divine principles rather than being a simple record of events. He argued that understanding these laws allows societies to pursue meaningful reform. Shirazi highlighted moral and ethical values as central to the rise and fall of civilizations, noting that nations adhering to justice and religious principles achieve stability and progress, while corruption and oppression lead to decline.
