World Economic Forum Meeting in Jeddah Postponed Amid Regional Security Concerns
————————————–
A planned meeting of the World Economic Forum, titled “Global Cooperation and Growth,” has been postponed due to rising security concerns linked to escalating regional tensions.
The event, which was scheduled to take place on April 22–23 in Jeddah, was delayed following consultations between Saudi authorities and the Ministry of Economy and Planning. A new date for the convention has not yet been announced.
According to Saudi Press Agency, increased missile and drone attacks across the Gulf region, including in Saudi Arabia, have raised serious security and economic concerns.
Economic experts warn that postponing the forum could impact international investment flows and slow economic cooperation efforts in the Middle East. Analysts also caution that continued instability—particularly threats to ports, energy infrastructure, and trade routes—may deter foreign companies and investors, posing challenges to regional development plans.
