Shia Muslims in several Mid East countries and in India marked Eid al-Fitr with large gatherings and prayers, despite security restrictions, political pressures, and ongoing regional conflicts, according to local media reports.

Gatherings took place in open spaces with safety precautions and controlled attendance, particularly in Kabul and other major cities. Security forces were deployed at prayer sites, while some families opted to pray at home due to safety concerns.

In Pakistan, large numbers of worshippers attended Eid prayers in mosques and Hussainiyas across provinces including Punjab, Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Major cities such as Karachi and Lahore saw high attendance, with religious leaders emphasizing unity and solidarity.

In Saudi Arabia, Shia communities in Al-Ahsa, Qatif, Dammam, and Medina held prayers despite ongoing social and political constraints. Worshippers gathered in mosques and smaller venues, with some limitations on public participation reported.

In Lebanon, Eid prayers were held in a spiritual atmosphere overshadowed by continued Israeli attacks and security tensions. Large crowds gathered in southern regions and in Beirut’s southern suburbs, including Sidon, with participants offering prayers for safety and stability. Despite concerns over ongoing violence, attendance remained high.

In Bahrain, Shia worshippers gathered in mosques under heightened security presence and political restrictions. Prayers were held in Manama and other regions such as Muharraq and Riffa, with security forces monitoring gatherings. Some families also prayed in open areas near mosques.

Meanwhile, in India, large congregations were reported in cities including Hyderabad and Lucknow, as well as in Shia-majority regions such as Moradabad. Worshippers gathered from early morning for prayers, Quran recitations, and exchanges of Eid greetings, with community leaders highlighting peace and social harmony.

Across these countries, the observance of Eid al-Fitr reflected both strong religious commitment and varying local challenges, including security concerns, political restrictions, and the impact of ongoing conflicts.
