Badghis Residents Face Growing Hardship as Winter Intensifies
……….

With winter tightening its grip on Badghis province, families report facing acute shortages of food, warm clothing, and heating supplies, according to Amu TV. In Bala Murghab district, residents say they are unable to protect their children from the cold, as many lack proper shoes and winter garments.

One resident said her household of 13 often struggles to find enough to eat, adding that basic items like rice, meat, and beans are now beyond their means. Increasing fuel costs have added further pressure. Another resident said the price of a single sack of fuel has risen to 100 afghanis, making it difficult for families to heat their homes.

Deepening poverty is compounding the situation. Another local resident said her family survives on very small daily wages. The hardship in Badghis mirrors Afghanistan’s wider humanitarian crisis, with the UN estimating that more than 20 million people will require aid this year.
