Four civilians injured in an explosion in Afghanistan amid a continuous decline in the security situation

Four people, all civilians, were injured when an explosion rocked the city of Taloqan, the capital of Takhar province in northern Afghanistan, amid a continuous decline in the security situation since the Taliban seized power.

“It was a mine explosion, which injured four civilians,” Abdul Mobin Safi, a provincial police spokesman, told Xinhua Agency.

The spokesman indicated that an investigation had been opened into the incident, without giving further details.

Afghanistan is witnessing instability in the security situation and frequent targeting of minorities, mosques and Husseiniyahs since the Taliban movement took control of the reins of power.
