Local reports from Herat indicate that Taliban forces have barred dozens of women — including patients and medical staff — from entering the city’s main hospital for not wearing the burqa.

According to the Shia Waves Agency, witnesses said that some women were even beaten at the hospital entrance.

The restriction reportedly applied even to women who were wearing full Islamic hijab but not the all-covering burqa.
