A new report by the University of Toronto’s Institute of Islamic Studies, in collaboration with Islamic Relief Canada, has revealed that Islam is the fastest-growing religion in the country. The study, titled “The Demographics of Muslims in Canada,” highlights the steady expansion and integration of Muslim communities across Canada.

According to the findings, one-third of Muslims in Canada are Canadian-born, reflecting the faith’s deepening roots within the nation’s social fabric. The report also notes that over 40% of Muslims hold university degrees or higher—surpassing the national average—demonstrating a strong commitment to education and professional advancement.

Despite ongoing challenges in employment and social inclusion, particularly among Muslim women and those of African descent, the report describes the Muslim community as resilient, active, and socially engaged. It concludes that Canada’s growing and diverse Muslim population continues to play an essential role in promoting inclusion, charity, and civic participation.
