Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon killed two people and injured seven others on Monday, Arab News reported. According to the Lebanese Health Ministry, one person was killed and seven were wounded when an Israeli drone targeted a car in the town of Doueir in Nabatiyeh province. A second strike on Aita al-Shaab in the same area left one person dead.

Lebanon’s National News Agency said the attack in Doueir caused a fire that damaged several nearby cars and a local shopping center. Firefighters were seen extinguishing the flames and clearing debris from the scene.

The strikes came a day after Israel warned it would escalate operations against Hezbollah, which it accuses of increasing cross-border attacks. Despite a November 2024 ceasefire, hostilities have continued, with multiple strikes reported in recent days as international mediators urge both sides to avoid further escalation.
