Global leaders have formally declared the end of the Gaza war during a historic summit in Sharm el-Sheikh, signing a comprehensive ceasefire agreement that opens the path for Gaza’s reconstruction and renewed political cooperation across the Middle East.

Leaders from more than 20 countries signed the Comprehensive Gaza Ceasefire Accord at the “Peace for Gaza” summit held in the Egyptian resort city of Sharm el-Sheikh, officially ending years of devastating conflict in the Gaza Strip.

According to Al Jazeera, the agreement — reached with the participation of the United States, Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey — establishes a framework for rebuilding Gaza and advancing political and humanitarian cooperation in the broader Middle East.

The summit, jointly chaired by the presidents of Egypt and the United States, emphasized peace, regional stability, and shared prosperity. The final document highlights principles of human dignity, tolerance, and equality of opportunity while calling for the normalization and deepening of relations between Israel and its neighbors as part of a wider regional vision for peace.

Radio Farda reported that the signing ceremony was attended by leaders from France, Germany, Qatar, Turkey, Jordan, and Egypt, among others. However, representatives of Israel, Hamas, and Iran were notably absent, though indirect negotiations and security coordination continue through diplomatic channels.

Under the terms of the agreement, a U.S.-supervised multinational force will oversee the implementation of the ceasefire, ensure the return of displaced Palestinians, and facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza.

Additionally, a special reconstruction conference will be held in Cairo, focusing on the phased restoration of Gaza’s essential infrastructure, including water, electricity, healthcare, and education systems.

The accord also includes provisions for the release of hostages and prisoners, viewed as a crucial step toward building mutual trust and reinforcing the peace process.

World leaders described the Sharm el-Sheikh agreement as “the beginning of a new chapter of peace and coexistence in the Middle East,” urging all parties to uphold the terms of the ceasefire and ensure sustained international support for Gaza’s recovery and long-term stability.
