The International Conference on the Role of Muslim Scholars and Thinkers in Europe concluded in Pristina, the capital of Kosovo, with a call to strengthen cooperation among Islamic universities and research institutions across Europe. Organized by the Faculty of Islamic Studies of the Islamic Community of Kosovo, the two-day event brought together academics and researchers from Europe and the Islamic world.
Participants emphasized the importance of creating joint scientific networks to promote a renewed Islamic discourse that engages with modern societal issues while preserving religious principles. Discussions addressed topics such as Islamic identity in European societies, integration, religious education, interfaith dialogue, and the influence of digital spaces on Islamic thought.
Speakers also highlighted the leading role of educational and religious institutions in promoting moderation and coexistence. The conference concluded with a cultural visit to the historic city of Prizren, underscoring the deep Islamic heritage of the Balkans.
