Iraq’s Counter-Terrorism Service announced on Monday that its forces carried out large-scale operations against ISIS remnants in the Hamrin mountain range, Salahuddin province. The operations, conducted in Wadi al-Shay, included reconnaissance, ambushes, and search missions, supported by 40 airstrikes.

According to the statement, the campaign destroyed 49 hideouts and caves used by ISIS militants. Forces also dismantled a vehicle-borne explosive device and seized mortar shells, rocket launchers, improvised explosive devices, and other explosives. The service reaffirmed its commitment to preventing ISIS resurgence in the area.
