Taliban Bans Media from Publishing Images of Living Beings in Herat
————————-
The Taliban’s Directorate of the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice in Herat province has announced a ban on the publication of images of living beings across all visual media, including television and YouTube.

According to Shia Waves Persian, Aziz-ur-Rahman Muhajir, the head of the directorate, stated that broadcasting such images is a “sin” and must be stopped. According to the BBC, he explicitly warned media outlets against publishing the daily events and social activities of the public.

This new restriction impacts the national television channel and dozens of registered YouTube channels operating within Herat. The move represents a significant expansion of the Taliban’s constraints on media freedom and public expression in the region.
