Taliban Orders Removal of Women’s Images and Pronoun ‘She’ from University Curricula
—————————————
New directives from the Taliban’s Ministry of Higher Education have ordered Kabul University’s English department to remove all images of women and the pronoun “she” from its textbooks, Amu TV reported. This move is part of a broader Taliban effort to purge educational materials and works authored by women from university curricula.

The new order also bans courses deemed “contrary to Islamic law,” leading to the blacklisting of 679 titles, including books on human rights, women’s studies, and Western political thought. The Taliban have not yet publicly commented on these directives. The action is consistent with previous measures taken by the Taliban, such as banning the sale of books they consider incompatible with Sharia.
