Three men in England have been sentenced to prison for carrying out Islamophobic acts, including leaving a pig’s head and scrawling the phrase “No Mosque” outside buildings used by Muslims.

According to Al-Youm Al-Sabea, the incidents occurred in July last year in Rainham, East London. The convicted men were identified as Harvey Wells, 21, Josh Campbell, 34, and James Desbois, 30.

Prosecutors said Wells left animal remains outside several community sites, including a children’s center, the Royal Youth Community Centre, and Harris Academy. Campbell and Desbois were also involved in vandalism linked to religious hostility.

Crown prosecutor Louise Oakley emphasized that the crimes were “deliberate and motivated by religious hatred.”

The court sentenced Wells and Campbell to 32 months in prison, while Desbois received 25 months. All three admitted to causing damage to property on religious grounds.

The ruling has been viewed as a firm response by the UK justice system to Islamophobic hate crimes, which have been a growing concern across the country.
