Canadian Ambassador Praises Arbaeen in Karbala

Gregorony Galligan, the Canadian Ambassador to Iraq, visited the holy city of Karbala to witness the million-strong Arbaeen pilgrimage, Shia Waves Persian reported. He praised the spiritual atmosphere of the global event, calling the massive gathering a unique experience of human and spiritual solidarity.

The ambassador highlighted the selfless efforts of the servants and owners of the mawkibs (pilgrim rest stops), describing their volunteer services as a unique model of generosity and love. He noted that they provide food, drinks, and other essential services to pilgrims with “the utmost love and sacrifice.”

Galligan added that the Arbaeen pilgrimage, in addition to its spiritual aspects, sends a clear message of peace and humanitarianism. He concluded by saying that the massive turnout shows that the message of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) continues to inspire the pursuit of justice and spirituality around the world.
