A 6.5-magnitude earthquake struck Indonesia’s West Papua region on Tuesday, according to the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ), which revised its earlier 6.1 reading.

The quake occurred at a depth of 17 kilometers (10.56 miles). The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center confirmed there was no tsunami threat following the tremor.
