Iraq’s Transport Minister, Razzaq Muhibis Al-Sa’dawi, announced the deployment of 450 private vehicles and 12 trains as part of a comprehensive transportation plan for this year’s Arbaeen pilgrimage to Karbala.

The minister visited Najaf province to oversee the implementation of the transport services aimed at facilitating the movement of millions of pilgrims. He emphasized the significance of Arbaeen as a major international event requiring intensive preparation.

Since the start of the month of Safar, the Ministry of Transport has coordinated efforts to transport pilgrims from border crossings in Diyala and Al-Kut provinces to Karbala, collaborating with security and service committees.

The plan involves all transport departments: the private transport company will manage 450 vehicles of various capacities, while the passenger and delegations company will contribute 450 buses, including double-decker coaches. The railways company will operate 12 trains.

Additionally, maritime, ports, and land transport companies will support pilgrim transit along key routes to Karbala, including from Baghdad and Al-Husseiniya. The ministry will also provide water, ice, and other services to pilgrims.
