The “Grand Husseini Project,” an initiative by the Public Relations Office of the Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq Husseini Shirazi, is actively underway in Karbala, mobilizing hundreds of young volunteers and providing crucial logistical support to prepare for the massive influx of Arbaeen pilgrims in 1447 AH.

As part of these comprehensive efforts, hundreds of dedicated young volunteers have embarked on a major cleaning campaign, meticulously tidying the streets leading to the holy shrines. This extensive cleanup, conducted in cooperation with the Karbala Municipality and in line with directives from the religious Marja’iya, aims to ensure a pristine environment for the millions of Husseini pilgrims expected to converge on the holy city for the fervent annual commemoration.

Concurrently, the project is providing essential logistical aid to the numerous Moukebs (pilgrim service stations) that will cater to the pilgrims. This includes the crucial provision of sanitary ice, a vital commodity for these service points during the hot pilgrimage season. The annual support for Hay’at (religious groups) and Moukebs is designed to facilitate the grand and dignified conduct of the sacred Arbaeen pilgrimage, in accordance with the recommendations of Grand Ayatollah Shirazi to enhance the experience for all visitors.
