Summer Heat Deepens Crisis for Displaced Families in Gaza
……………….

Soaring summer temperatures are compounding the daily hardships for displaced families in Gaza, where residents are enduring sweltering conditions in makeshift tents with limited access to clean water. With temperatures topping 30°C, many families rely on scarce water to cool their children as they struggle without electricity or fans.

Fuel shortages have crippled water production and sanitation facilities, leaving over 90% of households facing severe water scarcity, according to the UN. Aid agencies warn that blocked fuel supplies needed to operate wells and desalination plants risk pushing Gaza’s fragile water system to collapse.

Many families walk long distances to fetch water and ration every drop, while poor sanitation and mounting waste attract insects and increase disease risks. Despite limited aid entering since May, essential fuel remains restricted, putting thousands, especially children, at risk of dehydration and illness as the summer heat intensifies in the besieged enclave.
