Iran Reports 935 Dead in Short War With Israel Amid Nuclear Tensions
…………………
Iran has confirmed that 935 people, including 38 children and 102 women, were killed during its nearly two-week conflict with Israel, according to state media. The war began on June 13 when Israel launched major airstrikes targeting Iranian military commanders, nuclear scientists, and key facilities.
In response, Iran fired hundreds of ballistic missiles at Israel, killing 28 people and damaging a hospital, though most missiles were intercepted. Human rights groups estimate the Iranian death toll could be higher, at around 1,190.
The conflict paused following U.S. strikes on three Iranian underground nuclear sites and a subsequent ceasefire. President Trump, who initially warned Israel against escalating the conflict, later backed the strikes, blaming Tehran for failing to reach a nuclear deal within a 60-day window.
