India: Telangana allows early office leave for Muslim employees during Ramadan

The Telangana government has announced reduced working hours for Muslim employees during the month of Ramzan, local news reports said on Monday.
As per an official order issued by Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, government employees, including teachers, contract staff, and those in public sector undertakings, can leave their workplaces at 4 p.m. from March 2 to March 31, 2025.
The directive aims to facilitate religious observances, though employees must remain on duty if required for essential services. The notice also states that any changes to holidays based on the lunar calendar will be communicated through media channels.
