UN Special Rep expresses concern over child violence in Zambia
UN Special Representative Najat Maalla on Monday expressed concern about the prevalence of violence against children in Zambia despite the country having progressive laws and policies to protect them, Xinhua reported.
A study showed that a significant percentage of children experience or witness physical violence at home and are bullied in school, the source cited the UN officer.
Maalla emphasized the need for increased budget allocation for child protection services and the importance of involving children in finding solutions to end violence against them.
