Islamic State seeking recruits from Tajikistan, other countries in Central Asia

Islamic State (IS) has conducted a recruitment campaign targeting militants from Tajikistan and Central Asia, claiming responsibility for recent attacks in Moscow and Iran, Guardian published in an article.

It cites a UN report highlighting Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP) as a major threat as they recruit leading militants from other extremist groups and carry out plots in Europe.

The intelligence report reveals that Tajik militants have been involved in attacks across Europe and Turkey, and warns of a “high concentration of terrorist groups in Afghanistan.”
