Turkey: Islamic Scholars Convene in Gaziantep for International Forum

The First International Strategic Negotiations Forum opened in Gaziantep, Türkiye, on Thursday, November 21, bringing together Islamic scholars from the U.S., Asia, and Africa, Daily Sabah reported yesterday.

The forum, themed “The Search for Communication and Trust in the Islamic World,” is organized by Gaziantep Islam Science and Technology University, the Presidency of Religious Affairs, and the Şahinbey municipality.

Key discussions include the unity of opinion within the Islamic community, historical contexts of Muslim societies, and challenges posed by imperialism. Ali Erbaş, head of the Presidency of Religious Affairs, highlighted terrorism and violence as significant issues facing the Islamic world. He emphasized the need for Muslims to address these challenges through a shared commitment to their civilizational roots.

Erbaş also pointed out that Islamophobia affects not only Muslims but all of humanity, calling for increased cooperation and solidarity among Islamic societies to combat common adversities. The forum seeks to foster dialogue and collaborative strategies for a unified future.
