Terror Attack at Turkish Aerospace Industries Leaves 5 Dead, 22 Injured

On October 23, a terrorist attack at the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAS) headquarters near Ankara resulted in five fatalities and 22 injuries, with two individuals in critical condition, Reuters reported today.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya confirmed that both attackers were killed and suggested they were likely members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

Witnesses reported hearing gunfire and explosions as armed assailants entered the facility. Turkish air forces later conducted airstrikes in northern Iraq and Syria, targeting 32 PKK locations, neutralizing a significant number of terrorists.

Condemnations came from Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, NATO, the United States, and the European Union.

An investigation has been launched by prosecutors. TUSAS, Turkey’s largest aerospace manufacturer, employs over 10,000 people and is involved in key defense projects, including the indigenous fighter jet, KAAN.
