Turkey: Sanliurfa Museum Attracts Over 1.3 Million Visitors Since 2015
The Sanliurfa Archaeology Museum in Türkiye has welcomed over 1.3 million visitors since its opening in 2015, Anadolu Agency reported yesterday.
Spanning 60,000 square meters, the museum showcases around 5,000 artifacts, including significant finds from the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Gobeklitepe and Karahantepe, which are pivotal to understanding the Neolithic era.
Director Celal Uludag has emphasized the museum’s status as one of the world’s top museums and the largest in Türkiye, featuring 33 dioramas and 14 exhibition halls. The museum offers a unique experience with its chronological displays and regularly updated exhibits.
Uludag noted the increasing interest from both local and international visitors, highlighting the museum’s role in enhancing the cultural scene of Sanliurfa. With ongoing excavations, the museum promises to introduce new artifacts, further enriching its collection and visitor experience.
