Turkey continues efforts to restore cultural works damaged in earthquake
The restoration and reconstruction of historical and cultural monuments of Hatay, damaged in the February 6th earthquakes in the center of Kahraman Marash, continues with diligent efforts.
The responsibility lies with the scientific-advisory board of the Hatay Foundation, which was formed by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey for the purpose of restoring cultural heritage.
Hatay, known as the “Cradle of Civilizations” for hosting various civilizations throughout history, was one of the provinces that suffered the most from these earthquakes.
Out of 107 works supported by the Foundation’s regional administration, 71 works were seriously damaged and the rest suffered moderate or minor damage.
