President Tinubu Claims 13,000 Terrorists Killed, 124,000 Surrendered in Nigeria

In a national Democracy Day address, Nigerian President Bola Tinubu announced major military gains, claiming security forces have killed over 13,000 terrorists and achieved an 81% reduction in terror-related deaths since 2023.
Tinubu also stated that more than 124,000 individuals have laid down their arms and surrendered to the military under a national de-radicalization and reintegration program.
Military data indicates that the 124,000 surrendered individuals are not all frontline fighters. The vast majority are actually dependents—women, children, and elderly captives—fleeing harsh conditions in insurgent-held territories.
Data also reveals that terrorist attacks have also declined by 81% since 2023 in the conflict-ridden nation.
