Justice For All’s Save Uyghur Campaign Celebrates Introduction of Uyghur Human Rights Protection Act

Justice For All’s Save Uyghur Campaign has expressed its sincere appreciation to U.S. Lawmakers for their introduction of the bipartisan Uyghur Human Rights Protection Act, the organization’s website reported.
This vital legislation seeks to establish essential pathways for Uyghurs and other ethnic groups in East Turkistan who are fleeing persecution by the Chinese government, allowing them to seek refuge and asylum in the United States.
The proposed bipartisan bill includes a Priority 2 (P-2) designation for Uyghurs, which will expedite their access to the U.S. asylum process. Additionally, it directs the U.S. Secretary of State to prioritize diplomatic efforts aimed at protecting Uyghur refugees in third countries, thereby reducing the risk of their extradition back to China, where they face severe human rights abuses.

“This legislation marks a significant advancement in addressing the urgent humanitarian crisis confronting Uyghurs and other persecuted communities in East Turkistan,” stated Imam Abdul Malik Mujahid, President of Justice For All. “We are profoundly grateful to Representatives Subramanyam, Salazar, and Meeks, along with all the cosponsors, for their leadership and compassion in promoting this critical issue.”
Justice For All and the Save Uyghur Campaign urge legislators from all parties to support the Uyghur Human Rights Protection Act and reaffirm the U.S. commitment to uphold human rights. They call on Congress to swiftly pass the Uyghur Human Rights Protection Act and for the U.S. government to continue taking decisive action against the ongoing genocide in East Turkistan.
