Georgia’s Archbishop Emphasizes Importance of Introducing Imam Hussein (Peace Be Upon Him) and Significance of Karbala to All Religions

The Archbishop of Georgia, Malkhaz Songulashvili, has underscored the necessity of deepening the understanding of Imam al-Hussein (peace be upon him) and the significance of Karbala as a global symbol of steadfastness and sacrifice across all religions. This statement was made in a message addressed to Imam Hussein TV, where he highlighted the importance of educating various faiths about the character of Imam al-Hussein and the details of his blessed life.

In his message, Songulashvili stated, “The character of Imam al-Hussein (peace be upon him) and the greatness of Karbala must be introduced to all religions, as Imam al-Hussein represents a symbol of sacrifice and justice that transcends religious and ethnic boundaries.”

He further added, “Shia media should intensify their efforts to establish the position of the Master of the Martyrs (peace be upon him) in the minds and hearts of all people and encourage them to participate in the Arbaeen pilgrimage, which serves as an opportunity to embody the universal human values represented by the martyred Imam (peace be upon him).”

The archbishop continued, “I believe that in the future, we should produce more scientific documentaries that highlight the life of Imam al-Hussein (peace be upon him) and Karbala, fostering interfaith dialogue.”

He noted that such projects would help enhance understanding and cooperation among different religions and contribute to building a bridge of communication between peoples based on mutual respect and appreciation.

Songulashvili concluded his message by emphasizing the importance of these initiatives in creating a more tolerant and understanding world, expressing hope that these efforts would strengthen the noble human values embodied by Imam al-Hussein (peace be upon him) in the hearts of all people.
