Representative of the Shirazi Religious Authority continues his visits calling for peaceful coexistence in Kosovo

The representative of the Shirazi Religious Authority and President of the International Islamic Council, Sheikh Salih Sibaway, continued his visits to a number of active religious and political figures in the Republic of Kosovo, which received great resonance at the popular, official and media levels as well.

A statement by the Council, received by Shia Waves News Agency, stated that “His Eminence Sheikh Salih Sibaway performed the ceremonies of visiting the Rijak cemetery, which is one of the largest cemeteries in Kosovo, and includes the remains of the martyrs of the massacres committed by Serbia against the peaceful Muslim population.” He was quoted as saying: “The inhabitants of this city were a symbol of coexistence and harmony, where Muslims, Shias and Sunnis, lived without distinction between them or sectarianism.”

It added that “Sheikh Sibaway was accompanied on the visit by the Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo in Canada,” noting that “the visit included offering condolences and reading Surat Al-Fatihah for the martyrs.”

The statement continued, “The program also included a visit to the areas that were destroyed during the war between Serbia and Kosovo, and the residence of the martyr Adam Yasari, as well as a visit to the graves of the martyrs in the province of Skandaraj to read Surat Al-Fatihah on their souls, and it was accompanied by the governor, Mr. Fadel Noura.”

Sheikh Salih Sibaway made other visits, which included the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo and the official of the American Organization for Renewable Energy, Petrit Salimi.

The statement continued, “His Eminence also visited the Director General of RTK TV satellite channel, and they discussed the purposeful and beneficial role of media in spreading virtue, love and peace among people,” noting that “the meeting resulted in agreement on the contribution of a number of moderate religious scholars to present their ideas through channels to introduce the tolerance of Islam, and the lofty morals of the Noble Prophet and his Pure Household (peace be upon him and his progeny).”

The statement noted that “His Eminence Sheikh Salih Sibawayh conveyed the peace and greeting of the Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, to everyone he visited.”
