IUMS criticizes EU’s court decision on banning Muslim headscarf in workplaces
In wake of the decision issued by the European Court of Justice last Thursday, banning the headscarf in workplaces, the International Union of Muslim Scholars considered such decisions to be causes for creating terrorism and religious racism, media outlets reported.
“Such repeated decisions on Islam hurt the feelings of one billion and 700 million Muslims,” noting that these decisions “do not fit except with medieval ideology that pushed Europe into a religious war,” the Union said in a statement.
The Union also stressed that positive harmony and voluntary integration “will not be achieved by coercion, marginalization and restrictions on the freedoms and rights of others, but rather achieved through justice, equality, responsible freedoms and the provision of equality for all without any discrimination on the basis of race or religion.”
