European Officials Warn Israel Over West Bank Annexation Plans

European officials have issued a stern warning to Israel over its declared plans to annex parts of the occupied West Bank, according to Anadolu Agency. The warning, which was conveyed to the Israeli government, states that if Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu proceeds with the annexation, his government “will have to bear the consequences.”

The message was delivered after Netanyahu signaled that Israel might move forward with the annexation in response to a growing number of countries, including the UK, Canada, and Australia, that have recognized the state of Palestine. In a video message, Netanyahu claimed that such nations are “rewarding terrorism.” He insisted that Israel has long worked to prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state and vowed to continue to do so.

Netanyahu also stated that Israel has already doubled the number of illegal Jewish settlements on occupied Palestinian land and pledged to continue expanding them. He reiterated his firm stance that Israel will not allow the creation of a Palestinian state.
