At Least 15 killed as Nepal Reels from Deadly Landslides, Floods

At least 15 more people have been killed in landslides and floods in Nepal over the past two days, Xinhua reported today.

Incessant monsoon rains since Friday have caused widespread devastation, leaving 15 dead, 2 missing, and 17 injured.

The spokesperson for Nepal Police, Dan Bahadur Karki, reported that 125 families have been displaced, hundreds of livestock killed, and some highways blocked due to the natural disasters.

Parts of the capital, Kathmandu, have also been inundated. With the rainfall continuing, the loss of lives and property is likely to increase. This comes after 48 people were killed in rain-induced disasters since the monsoon season began on June 10.
