Grand Ayatollah Wahid Khorasani Issues Muharram Guidance, Urges Expanded Mourning Gatherings, Support for the Needy

On the eve of Muharram, Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Hussein Wahid Khorasani issued important guidance to Husseini groups and mawkibs, calling for the Ashura rituals to be commemorated with greater devotion and for mourning gatherings to be expanded more than in previous years.

Grand Ayatollah Wahid Khorasani described reviving the remembrance of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, as a source of divine mercy and a consolation to Lady Fatima al-Zahra, peace be upon her. He called for these ceremonies to be spread across the world.

He also referred to the holy shrine of Lady Fatima Masoumeh, peace be upon her, in Qom, describing it as a key center for holding Husseini mourning ceremonies.

In another part of his recommendations, Grand Ayatollah Wahid Khorasani urged believers to take part in feeding mourners and supporting the needy, especially under the current difficult economic conditions.

He also recommended that gatherings begin with the recitation of Ziyarat Aale Yasin and that mourners dedicate the daily recitation of Surah Yasin to Imam al-Mahdi, may Allah hasten his noble reappearance.
