A refugee support organization, Lutke Foundation, reported on Thursday that 26 migrants arrived early in the morning on the remote Greek island of Farmakonisi. The group’s route was reportedly altered, leading them to the uninhabited island, which hosts only a few military installations.

According to the organization, the migrants, mostly from Somalia and Iraq, were rescued and taken to a medical center for health checks after several showed signs of exhaustion from the difficult journey. The foundation said it continues to monitor their situation and provide assistance.
