Kenya: At least 4 dead in fatal roadside blast linked to al-Shabaab terrorists

Police on Friday confirmed that at least four individuals lost their lives, and two others sustained serious injuries when their vehicle was struck by a roadside bomb.

The Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was planted between Egge Dam and Bogyar along Dadaab-Garissa by Sunni Extremist terrorist group al-Shabaab, local military authorities confirmed.

Authorities have noted that security forces had successfully thwarted an attempted al-Shabaab assault in the same vicinity on Dec. 2.

Al-Shabaab began launching attacks in Kenya around 2011, primarily in response to Kenya’s decision to send its troops to Somalia.
