………..
Ten Hungarian and German tourists and a Kenyan pilot were killed when a light aircraft crashed in southeastern Kenya on Tuesday, Reuters reported. The plane, operated by Mombasa Air Safari, was flying from the coastal resort town of Diani to the Maasai Mara reserve when it went down in a forested area of Kwale County around 8:30 a.m. local time.
Authorities said investigators have been dispatched to determine the cause of the crash. Witnesses described smoke rising from the wreckage, with passengers’ belongings scattered across the site. Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto confirmed that eight Hungarian citizens—including two families, an acquaintance, and two minors—were among the victims, along with two Germans.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban extended condolences to the families of those killed. Mombasa Air Safari said it is fully cooperating with Kenyan aviation authorities as the investigation into the fatal accident continues.
