French media reported that unknown persons tried to set fire to the “Al-Salam” mosque at night in the second district of Lyon, adding that the fire damaged the door of the mosque.

Commenting on this, Interior Minister Gerald Darmanan condemned, via Twitter, the attack on the mosque, stressing that the attacks targeting Islam, Judaism and Christianity are full of hatred.

The attackers have not yet been arrested.
