Cornerstone of Shia mosque laid in Ghana

The cornerstone of Imam Mahdi Mosque in the city of Accra, Ghana, was laid with the aim of serving the followers of the Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, in the city.

The cornerstone of Imam Mahdi Mosque in the city of Accra, Ghana, was laid with the aim of serving the followers of the Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, in the city.

The supervising committee said in a statement, that the work comes following the directives of the Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, for the importance of establishing Islamic and religious centers around the world to disseminate the Islamic knowledge and the teachings of the Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them.

It added that a land was purchased with the endeavors and efforts of some representatives of His Eminence in Accra to build the mosque, as it will hold programs and daily prayers, in addition to disseminating the teachings of the Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them. 

The cornerstone laying ceremony was in presence and participation of a group of students of religious sciences, and a group of followers of the Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, in Ghana, in addition to a group of followers of His Eminence.
