The Somali Armed Forces Commander, General Adwa Yusuf Raji, has announced that the army forces have killed three leaders and 37 terrorists of Al-Shabaab Group, affiliated with the al-Qaeda terrorist organization.
Raji said that the clashes took place in the Abal region on the outskirts of the Bakool region in southern Somalia, noting that among the dead was a youth militia official in the city of Hadr.
Government forces have intensified operations against Al-Shabaab extremists in the southern regions, but the militants still hold swathes of rural areas in those regions conducting ambushes and planting land mines.
