German news agency DW broadcasted footage of Muslims performing Friday prayer inside the church in the German capital, Berlin.
Muslims have returned to pray the Friday prayer in mosques after an eight-week ban to prevent gatherings as precautionary measures to curb the spread of the Corona pandemic.
On May 4, the German authorities allowed the places of worship to open their doors, provided that the number of worshipers does not exceed fifty, so the Church of Marta opted to allow Muslims to perform their Friday prayer inside it throughout the great month of Ramadan.
“We believe that Ramadan is a very valuable thing, and we believe that we pray and open our hearts to each other and to God, because that is good for humanity and enhances the power of peace,” said Reverend Monika Matias.
Muhammad Taha Sabri, director of the Dar es Salaam Mosque in Berlin, thanked him for the great initiative, which came in solidarity with Muslims.
