The Religions Dialogue Council in the Indian state of Telangana issued a statement blessing all Muslims for the great month of Ramadan and called for cooperation between Muslims and Christians in order to protect places of worship.
The President of the Council, Cardinal “Miguel Angel Aisu”, said that it is time to work together to support places of worship, expressing his regret that Christians did not meet Muslims at iftar tables during Ramadan because of the coronavirus pandemic, which led to the cessation of all collective activities.
He added, “The month of Ramadan is a positive opportunity to strengthen the relationship between Muslims and Christians, but the pandemic made us miss this precious opportunity,” explaining that followers of Islam and Christianity can work together to increase their support for places of worship.
