A mosque in the US state of Virginia is distributing hundreds of daily iftar meals to the poor and needy families in the month of Ramadan.
Director of Virginia Islamic Center, Saif Rahman, said, “The great month of Ramadan gives the opportunity for Muslim minorities to support and donate to the mosque,” adding that the mosque in Ramadan received 15,000 worshipers last year, but this year, due to the pandemic, the mosque was forced to close.
Rahman continued, “We are preparing daily hundreds of meals and distributing them in front of the mosque.”
“Every day we prepare 650 meals to distribute to the poor,” says Mohamed Idrissi, who helps prepare meals.
