The Yemeni National Rescue Government in Sanaa called on the United Nations to provide the necessary curative and preventive assistance to counter the coronavirus, and to provide the needs of the quarantine centers urgently.
This came during a meeting with Yemeni Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf Abdullah, the United Nations Resident Representative and Humanitarian Coordinator Liz Grande, according to the Yemeni news agency, Saba.
In the meeting, Hisham Sharaf discussed the activities of the United Nations and its relief and humanitarian agencies in Yemen, including those related to the precautionary measures taken by the rescue government to counter the pandemic.
He stressed, “The necessity for the United Nations, especially the World Health Organization, to play its role in making endeavors with host countries, Yemeni nationals, whether residents or visitors, to take the necessary precautions for any travel or transportation operations until the end of this pandemic.”
