The Nigerian army announced that it was able to eliminate a number of elements of the “Boko Haram” terrorist organization in an operation carried out on the organization’s training camp in the northeast of the country.
Deputy Nigerian Ministry of Defense spokesman Bernard Onyoku said, in a press statement, that the army bombed an air strike in a camp in Borno State, in which members of the Boko Haram organization were meeting.
He added that the operation resulted in the destruction of the training camp completely, and the killing of a large number of terrorists, which he did not specify.
Since 2009, Boko Haram violence has killed more than 20,000 people, has displaced millions in Nigeria, and since 2015, the organization has begun attacks in neighboring countries such as Cameroon, Chad and Niger.
