The local government in the state is working to reveal the identity and dismantle of local Muslims from Muslims from Bangladesh, and is doing so within the framework of the central government implementing a nationalist extremist policy in dealing with Muslims.
The chairman of the Minority Affairs Council of Assam al-Awal, said that the state of Assam embraces 13 million Muslims, 9 million of whom are of Bangladeshi origin.
