Afghan media announced today, Wednesday, that eight members of the Afghan police were killed in an attack on a military checkpoint in Balkh province, in the north of the country.

The Afghan newspaper “Talao News” quoted the statements of the provincial police spokesman, Fadl Salehi, who announced that the attack on the military checkpoint took place on Tuesday evening and it included 14 military checkpoints.
According to private sources of the Afghan media, the attack was carried out by members of the Taliban, after signs and information it had received from an agent planted with Afghan forces in the area.
