The Afghan Defense Ministry said on Monday that its forces had killed 17 Taliban terrorist elements as a result of bombing in the northeast of the country.
The Ministry said in a statement that the bombing targeted Taliban strongholds in the Dashti Qala area, Takhar province, according to the local “Arezzo News” website.
It added that the attack resulted in the destruction of two Taliban strongholds, a vehicle and six motorcycles.
This comes hours after the Taliban announced the approval of a temporary cease-fire in Afghanistan, providing a window through which a peace agreement with the United States can be signed.
