Free Muslim: Efforts must be made to protect the 250 million children living in countries affected by conflict

On the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression, the International Nonviolence Organization, Free Muslim, called for taking into account the UN recommendations and alleviating the suffering of children in conflict areas.
“Twenty years ago, the General Assembly adopted resolution number 51/77 on the rights of the child, and this was a significant development in efforts to improve the protection of children in conflict situations,” the organization said in a statement received by Shia Waves.
It added, “The latest report drew global attention to the devastating impact of armed conflict on children, and the resolution indicated the initiation of a new consensus among Member States on the need for dedicated attention, advocacy and coordination efforts, in order to address the particular vulnerabilities and violations children face in conflict-related cases.”
The organization stated, “In recent years, the number of violations committed against children has increased in many areas of conflict, and more efforts must be made to protect 250 million children living in countries and regions affected by conflict.”
On this international occasion, the International Nonviolence Organization, Free Muslim, called on the countries of the international community to take into account the UN recommendations in this important regard, and to work on setting unbreakable standards that alleviate the suffering of children in conflict areas and strive to distance them from involvement in armed operations, pointing to the importance of the United Nations giving the supposed attention in dealing with the ongoing violations in some areas of conflict in the Middle East and Central African countries, given the extent of the violations observed.
